Dear Parents,
I just wanted to let you know a bit about how I grade and use OnCourse. Since the majority of the work the students do in my classes is "hands-on" type work, I like to make sure that I give them plenty of class time to complete projects. As you know, there are some students that may not have the same programs on their computers at home, so I have to insure that everyone has adequate time in class to do the work. Because of this, I do not post grades to OnCourse as often as other teachers do.
By the time I teach a new set of skills and we practice them as a class, several days have passed before I can even give the students an assignment to do on their own. And of course some students just do not type as fast as others, so I have to build in some "catch-up" days to the time line as well.
I hope this helps to explain why you don't always see as many updates in OnCourse. Be assured that I am doing all that I can to help each student do their best and pass my courses.
