Due Tuesday and Wednesday Sept 7 and 8
Your task is to choose 2 options for a computer systems to purchase and then justify which one to buy to the class and to your parents. Your project will be presented to the class. You should also prepare a scenario of how you will be using your new computer. This will help to justify your purchase.
The scenario is like an introduction to a paper you would write for language arts. It sets the scene for the rest of the project and tells us what you will be using the computer for and why you will need the particular components and accessories you choose. Below is an example:
Examples
1. I play lots of games. I play them in my room so I can have the tv on while I play. Whenever a new game comes out, I buy it. I need the games to run as fast as possible with the best graphics and sound, so I really need a fast processor, a lot of memory, and a fast graphics card.
2. I take lots of videos and pictures. I want to be able to save them on my hard drive. I also want professional software that will help me edit these videos and pictures. I want to be able to edit the movies and pictures quickly and make dvds for my family and friends.
3. I know that I will be using my computer to do a lot of research and writing for school. I also would like to be able to use my computer on the bus or wherever I am. I would like to eventually be able to take it with me to college, maybe. I also like to write and sometimes I write at the beach. I definitely need to be able to connect to the Internet.
The final product can be a:
• Powerpoint
• Poster
• Other approved product
Your final product should have:
• Your name
• Computer comparison chart
• Which computer is chosen
• Justification for choosing that computer
You may also include other information that will be informative support your justification.
