Introduction

Here at James Weldon Johnson we offer two courses in computers: Computer Applications and Introduction to Programming.

The Computer Applications class emphasizes the use of Microsoft Office 2003. Throughout the year we work in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. As needs and time become available we do explore other forms of computer applications.

The Introduction to Programming uses Microsoft Visual Basic Express 2005 to learn the major programming concepts.

Check out the Classroom News page for information about the great software savings.

Wish List

As always, we teachers are in need of certain items to make the classroom more pleasant for your children. I may be updating this list as the year progresses and the needs change so please check back every now and then. The following is a list of items that would be gratefully accepted:

  • boxes of tissues (the flu and cold season is fast approaching)
  • printer paper (we have many students, many projects, and very little money to purchase paper)
  • Handy-Wipes, Germ-X, or similar types of disinfectant or hand sanitizing product
  • Clear Scotch brand Mailing and Storage tape to mend books and other items
  • Construction paper for work the students may be doing with their portfolios
  • A new car (NO- JUST KIDDING!!)

Thank you in advance for any contributions you may make.
